Democrat Small Business Owners: Will The New 1099 Rules Increase Your Paperwork?
QUOTE: ” When a business buys a $1,000 used car, it will have to gather information on the seller and mail 1099s to the seller and the IRS. When a small shop owner pays her rent, she will have to send a 1099 to the landlord and IRS. Recipients of the vast flood of these forms will have to match them with existing accounting records. There will be huge numbers of errors and mismatches, which will probably generate many costly battles with the IRS.”http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2010/04/2…
For some small business owners this does means paying for more office people right out of their profit margin, but wouldn’t that be job creation the democrats want? What patriotism from the democrat business owners to reduce their bottom line! How nice! Bon appetit democrat business owners!
what is your opinion?

I’m Confused, And Lost, Please Help Me Out?
my boyfriend of a month often goes away on business trips but he’s not very good at keeping in touch while away (even though he says he will).
3 days ago I sent him a text to see if he’s ok…he didn’t reply anything. After 2 days of no reply, I sent him a text from my other mobile line (he didn’t know the number) and asked him if he’s ok. He replied immediately , asked me who I was (since I didn’t write my name) and was all flirty. He texted me by calling me “sweetie” and that he can “barely contain himself with excitement”. I think he thought some ex of his wanted to re-connect. He texted around 5 times in a row without him knowing that he’s texting me.
After that I sent him a text and told him that it seems he enjoys texting random ppl but I’m still waiting for a reply to a text i sent him 2 days ago. I then revealed my name and told him I’m missing him too. He didnt’ send me anything after that.
It’s been a day of no reply and I’m heartbroken, I can’t take it anymore, I’m left hanging and I hate this feeling. I’m going to text him to let me know when he’s back so that I could get my clothes back from his flat. Will that give him the message that it’s over? I’m too good for him so I want to end all of this (if he hasn’t already!)
Do I Need A Lawyer To Write My Business’ Privacy Policy And Terms & Conditions?
My company is a startup online education business. For the Privacy Policy, I’ve found a pretty good free online privacy policy generator that makes sure to comply with new California laws as well as the standard federal ones. It seems fairly professional and I was wondering if it’s really necessary to hire a lawyer.
With the terms and conditions, I could imagine a lawyer might be more necessary since the nature of my business involves working with professionals who are providing the teaching along with students who will be using it.
Has anyone had any experience with such topics? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Home Record Keeping… How Long Should I Maintain The Following Bills/documents (see Below)?
Hi, a few years back I set up a home record keeping system. It’s working very well. I keep an active file for the current year and going back through the previous year. I then bundle and store years older than that.
The question is how long do I maintain them before I can comfortably destroy the following documents?
Routine bills: utilities, phone, cable, internet, etc.
Health care: insurance and provider bills AND explanation of benefits received
Investment statements: IRAs, mutual funds, etc.
Bank/Credit union statements
Business receipts (We’re self-employed)
Thanks for any and all advice.
What Do They Mean When They Say The Business World Is Like A Battlefield?
We’re all hungry for money, and we’re all fighting and competing for it.
How Much Does My Business Have To Make In Order To Be Required To Charge Gst & Hst?
I got this:
“You have to register for GST/HST when you no longer qualify as a small supplier because your total worldwide taxable supplies of goods and services exceed the small supplier limit of $30,000 in a single calendar quarter or in four consecutive calendar quarters.”
From the following Government Canada webpage:
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/gst-tps/rgstrng/mndtry-eng.html
I THINK this says that if I don’t supply $30,000 in a single quarter, I don’t have to charge GST/HST. But what about that bit about four consecutive quarters? Does that mean if I bill for more than $30,000 within a year I also have to start charging GST/HST?
I just want a definitive answer: When am I REQUIRED to start charging GST/HST?
