Not as many people had cell phones…I didn’t have a cell phone until 2005…after Hurricane Katrina I saw the value in having one…all the landlines were down and I had to literally get in the car and look for people, which wasn’t easy with all the debris on the roads.
err when i was like 7/8 i had a nokia 3310, which is just about 12 years ago, and has for family and stuff most of mine had them as well, so i’d say a lot of people did considering i come from a poor family as well, so if we had them then i guess rich ppl did too etc
